Oh no! Not another go green post…

Wednesday, December 23rd, 2009

keepcupsIf you know me, you know I hate following trends and going green to me sounded like another bandwagon cause. I’ve recently changed my opinion and while there are a million people telling you the same thing I decided to share how i’m going about my change for the greater good !

My first steps(including measurement method):

I’m sure this list will grow and I might even post up and record my progress.

So far i’ve purchased 7 keep cups for our team at work to contribute:

On an average of 25 cups per week we calculated we’d save 0.2 tree’s a year and 18kg’s of landfill.

Thats not a bad start.

Cheers

Visio Online

Tuesday, October 27th, 2009

As I have recently purchased a new machine I had the need to do some documents online, i have been using google docs for almost everything (including viewing PDF), however when writing up my article about windows media 7 meta dataI had a need to create a visio diagram online.

I found a great tool called gliffy.  You can see in my blog post how I have used the online visio alternative to create a great little overview of how i have my media setup.

I published the document to a jpg file and uploaded to my blogsite to have it visible in my article. There is the free option as well as a premium option, however the free version has all that I need for the moment. see http://www.gliffy.com/features/ for the full set of features.

Anyone has used Visio before will be able to use this without blinking!

My Nokia N86 8MP Contacts and Hotmail

Sunday, September 27th, 2009

I wanted to create a post with step by step accounts of my hunt for the solution to my issues, Recently I have purchased a Nokia N86 8MP and while I will post a Nokia N86 8MP Review Later, I also wanted to keep track of how I have my phone synchronised to ensure that if I am faced with having to replace/restore my contacts I understand where everything is.

I hope to get to this soon, but Was hoping this all would work out of the box.

Due to the time it took to get working initially I have posted a rough outline of the lessons I learnt getting my N86 Phone Mail and Contacts Syced to Gmail. I was hoping to have Calandar/Contacts and Email all working smoothly.

Once I have worked it out or found the solution I’ll be sure to update these posts.

How to get Live real time Web Analytics?

Saturday, September 19th, 2009

As I’ve been educating myself on web based analytics I’m always on the look out for better ways of doing things.

Recently when looking at Google Analytics which is doing most of the work for me, I found Clicky: Clicky Web Analytics I’m currently using the Trial Version to test it out before purchasing but so far having real-time information about web surfers is fantastic.

If you have any Tips please share them below, hopefully soon I’ll post up how I’ve optimised my web analytics.

Welcome to Rob Mulally .Net

Sunday, June 7th, 2009

Hi and welcome to Rob Mulally.net,

I’ve been looking forward to putting up a word press blog on my domain to replace the old place holder. The main idea behind this site will be to provide a central landing page for Rob Mulally, I finally got the motivation to getting this word press page up after seeing Dane Jeffrey do the same. I wrote about it on my blogspot blog.

Read all about it at Dane Jeffrey goes Wordpress

Thanks
